[edit] Monster Information

The Basarios is a rock wyvern that dwells underground and in hot climates like the volcano area. He usually hides in Area 2. Because it is practically made of rock, many weapons bounce off them and only the sharpest weapons will penetrate. The Basarios is the juvenile form of the Gravios. It shares some attributes with it's larger version. They are: inability to fly, lives in volcano zone, uses fire attacks, and it charges the same way as well as some other less obvious similarity. It's movements are relatively slow and easy to manoeuvre around.

The in-game description: A large wyvern found in volcanic zones. They are the juvenile form of the Gravios. They have a steel-like carapace that requires powerful items to crack. Emits poison gas

Tips for fighting: As the Basarios lives underground, they usually begin the battle underground. Look for a clutter of three rocks, one taller rock surrounded by two smaller ones. Use a pitfall trap, two large barrel bomb+, and one small barrel bomb+, and when its stuck use the bombs to break its chest. Just combine a large B-bomb with scatterfish and a SM B-bomb with burst arrowana. It also has the slowest charge attack in the series. This, combined with a lack of fast ranged attacks, makes it very susceptible to ranged weapons. Especially pierce shots. Be warned, although it is slow, the charge is as powerful as any other wyvern.

The tail of a Basarios may be cut off during the fight, the beast's chest can also be broken open, revealing its muscles which are very susceptible to slashing and piercing from blades and lances.
