[edit] General Information

Ceadeus is a new monster exclusively featured in Monster Hunter 3. Not much is known about the creature, except that it is extremely large in size, similar to that of a Lao Shan Lung and is a sea dwelling creature. It can only be fought in an underground water cave.

Whilst fighting it can go into rage mode, during which it's stomach will become covered in red splotches.

Rage mode

Like the Lao Shan-Lung, Ceadeus travels along a path through several areas while generally ignoring the player. However, when Ceadeus reaches the final area, it will initiate a full assault on the hunter.

Ceadeus can perform the following:

  • Suck up water than shoot out at high power creating an underwater beam.
  • Curl up and quickly quickly dart forward.
  • Flick it's tail which will knock the hunter back.
  • Shake it's head to knock the hunter away.

Most of Ceadeus' physical attacks will inflict the Curse Status Effect.

It's thicker right horn can be cut off and carved twice.

Broken horn of Ceadeus

When Ceadeus is repelled, it will swim up to the surface of area 3 on the map, which is inaccessible by the hunter. It CANNOT be killed or repelled in any other area than area 3.

Ceadeus is vulnerable to fire, thunder and dragon, fire being the less effective element and dragon the most effective.

Ceadeus hood, both horns the beard and the tail can be damaged, can break, but you can only carve the horn still you are able to damage the other horn to increase your % for quest rewards
