Purple Royal Ludroth
The Deserted Island near Moga is a new area featured exclusively in Monster Hunter 3. It contains a large mountainside which connects to the ocean, as well as directly to Moga Village via a bridge. However, even close proximity to a village doesn't prevent it from being home to a various number of monsters. Form the village opens up a spectacular view of the valley, allowing one to drop down to the rocky coast towards the right, where sea monsters lurk, or up into the mountain caves, to the left, where flying monsters nest. Creatures like Lagiacrus and Royal Ludroth comb the beaches for meals and large fish such as sharks swim in the deeper sides of the ocean nearby. The waters contain numerous caves, one of which has the nest of the Leviathan species that live in the area, and the river emptying out to it the teems with herbivores seeking a drink.

 Moga Forest
In Monster Hunter Tri, players can venture into the area without the need of a Quest Contract. This area can be access either from the Moga Village directly, or the Moga Farm. During this time, they can leisurely hunt and gather resources. The Chief's Son provides Forecasts, which determine any events, weather or large monsters sited. THe area is refered to specifically as the Moga Forest.
The Deserted Island makes a return in Monster Hunter Portable 3rd, and appears to have no significant changes as of yet. It is expected to be slightly altered, due to the fact that there is no swimming featured in the game.
The Deserted Island also returns in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate. It is similar to the Deserted Island in Monster Hunter Tri. However, there are slight changes to the area, as Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate adds High Rank quests to the village. The most important change is the new day/night system. In Monster Hunter Tri, each day and each night was its own "cycle"(one farm cycle took place during the day and another at night, and hunters would only pass half of a day by hunting in Moga Woods(Deserted Island without quest). In Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate, a day and night combined are one cycle. This means that the hunter must choose between hunting at night and day each day. Hunting during the day is the same as hunting in Moga Woods in Monster Hunter Tri. Hunting at night allows the hunter to hunt High Rank monsters and gather High Rank materials without doing a quest. Because of the changes, many new monsters can be found in the area in Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate.
