Espinas

Espinas is a newly introduced wyvern and is Monster Hunter Frontier exclusive. It is featured on the cover of Monster Hunter Frontier and has been the flagship monster for the game. It closely resembles a Rathian, only it is coated in pinkish thorn like spikes, rather than scales and is a vivid green in colour. The name Espinas is in Spanish, translated to Thorns. The colour and type of the thorns can be found similar to that of some rose thorns, which are similarly shaped and curved, as well as having a red stem and pinkish tipped thorn.

Espinas has an orange sub-species that glows brightly when enraged, capable of blasting orbs of an unknown element from its mouth.
