|A Jaggi prey|
|Monster Type||Bird Wyvern|
|First Appearance||Monster Hunter Tri|
Jaggi are the counterpart of the prey Baggi and live mainly in warm climates. They live in packs and create a nest within a closed off area, usually littered with multiple bone piles. Their nests are also close to small narrow pathways in order to easily navigate the surrounding terrain.
The Jaggi has a Alpha-Male counterpart known as the Great Jaggi, which is much larger and more ferocious.
 General Information
Official Guild Entry: "Currently None"
Appearance: Small body shape, with small arms, claws and legs. They are covered in orange and purple colored hide, which would perhaps emphasise their aptitude with the warm climates. Their heads are small with frills around the neck, pointed jaws and small orange eyes. The tail is small and spiked. The eyes are able to prevent the sand from obscuring their vision when out in the Sandy Plains.
Nature: Aggressive, they mainly congregate in packs of 3 to 5, usually within well lit areas close to both Aptonoth herds (Used as a food source) as well as their nest. Most are usually accompanied by a Great Jaggi Alpha Male as the pack leader. Their pack is also accompanied by female Jaggias.
Jaggi will caw in order to signal to others within the area as well as surrounding area when they notice an enemy. Their tactics usually involve attacking in groups.
Jaggi attack by closing in on their enemies and biting at them. They can occasionally spin and flick their tail at them.
In the presences of an Great Jaggi, they follow commands of the Alpha Male and are willing to attack even the largest of wyverns. If the leader is incapacitated in anyway though, their formation breaks and sometimes they'll start snapping at each other in confusion.
 Hunter's Tips
- Jaggi have a fear of fire and are much less inquisitive when compared to Baggi. The presence of the torch will cause the surrounding Jaggi to keep their distance, whilst cawing to other Jaggi in the area (possibly for help). When close to the torch they will begin to shiver and then jump back.
- Hitting a Jaggi with a torch multiple times will intimidate it enough to leave the area.
Jaggi can be carved a maximum of 1 time.
