One of the weakest monsters in the game, Kelbis usually jump around minding their own business. They will run away if a wyvern appears, although they are in most quests which do not involve a wyvern. Their carves are used for making armour such as Velociprey armour. No weapons can be made using its materials. Their horns are also useful because they can be combined with an immunizer to create an Ancient Potion.
 General Information
Official Guild Entry: Herbivorous, deer-like monsters. Valued for their horns, they tend to run away at the first hint of danger. They are also hunted for their meat, which is chewy yet flavorful.
Appearance: Kelbi resemble deers with scales all over their bodies, mostly their backs and towards their heads. A soft layer of fur covers their underbelly and chin, and two distinctive horns are crowned on their head. Males have beards and with a larger tail and horns, while being of a slightly warmer colour. Females have less fur and smaller horns and are coloured slightly more neutral.
Nature: Kelbis are an extremely placid creature, only attacking hunters after being severely aggravated (and this behaviour occurs more commonly with Males) otherwise they will flee, especially in the presence of a predator.
With this monster being the least threatening creature a hunter could ever encounter in the wilderness, there's little combat advice needed when hunting one. The monster should prove little more than practice for tougher monsters.
 Hunter's Tips
- Try not to let the Kelbi escape after attacking it.
You can carve Genprey only one time. It has no exclusive G-rank carves.
