Monster Hunter is an adventure game for the PlayStation 2, created by Capcom.

While the game can be played single-player, the emphasis is put on multiplayer where hunters can meet up online and form parties of 4.

The game features no real storyline, you basically create your own. Each quest has a certain time limit.

Monster Height Comparisons

The game is set in a land called Minegarde, where the human race is not on the top of the food-chain, and where monsters roam the land. The game's main focus is Survival. Survival from creatures which pose a thread to hunters and their respective villages. It is up to the hunter to protect villages from certain destruction, and as such prove themselves to their local town that they are a prime hunter.

Here is a copy of the Monster Hunter Booklet to aid anybody in need of basic controls or other such matters.

The game is split into various kinds of quests. These include:

[edit] Hunting Quests

Where up to 4 hunter's goal is to kill a specified monster. These quests are marked Red.

[edit] Gathering Quests

Hunters are free to roam around a certain map until the time is up or they deliver a "Paw Pass" to the box. These quests are marked Green.

This type of quest is where hunters have to use traps and sleep weaponry to capture a monster. These quests are marked in White.

These quests, marked in purple, are online-only. Every week a new Event is released, however this feature has been discontinued.
