Qurupeco is a new monster exclusively featured in Monster Hunter 3. A uniquely colorful, medium-sized bird wyvern, Qurupeco has sound-amplification adaptations in its chest area and on the top of its head. It uses these to mimic the roars of other Wyverns and monsters, to attract that monster or scare off predators when it feels threatened.

It is also able to strengthen or even heal itself and nearby creatures with its calls. This ability is rather interesting since a skilled hunter will strike its expanded chest until the monster flinches, causing the abilities to pass on to the hunters in the area. The notable difference in telling which the wyvern is about to do is his motions; if he hops from side to side, clicking his knuckles against each other, he is about to heal or buff himself. If he finishes he will hop in circles. If he is stopped he will attempt to run away and fall over, and this also provides the buffs to yourself and your team mates (if online). If he was healing and you interrupt it by attacking, you'll get healed; same with Attack boosts or Defense Boosts.

The fluid he spits is usually fired in volleys of three and if makes contact, it lowers the hunter's flame defenses.

The roars that can be imitated include:

Qurupeco's abilities include:

- Spitting a stat reducing fluid and an enemy.
- Using it's flint like claws to create a spark which leads to an explosion.
- Flying attacks
- Creating loud screeches to immobilise the opponent.
- Strengthening and healing itself and nearby creatures with a screech.
