The snow variation of Akantor

Ukanlos (Japanese name: Ucamulbus) is a new monster which first appeared in Monster Hunter Portable 2nd G and Monster Hunter Freedom Unite. The polar opposite of the "Black Diety" Akantor, Ukanlos is known as the "White God", which will bring about the destruction of the land. A new level dedicated to fighting the creature features a frozen lake and a destroyed camp-site in an unknown mountain top.

Ukanlos fights similarly to Akantor, charging towards hunters and loud ear piercing roars, however, a key difference is Ukanlos diving into the ice and using its multitude of fins to cut along the surface as it swims.

Defeating this massive beast earns one the Northern Star/Ukanlos Bead award in their guild card.

[edit] Ukanlos Stones

The Ukanlos Stone is a form of Heavenly Scale that is exclusive to the Ukanlos. It is very rare, with hunters getting an average of one every two kills! These Stones are required to make the following items:

. Ukanlos armour - Every single piece requires one Stone. Fancy full Blademaster and Gunner armour? That will be ten Stones please!

. Upgrading Akantor weapons - Every Akantor weapon requires a Stone to be made into its final form. There are around 6 of these.

. Creating Ukanlos weapons - Every Ukanlos weapon requires a Stone to make. There are 11 of these.

. Making the 'Absolute Bow' - Arguably the best Light Bow Gun in the game, this little beauty requires 2 Stones (and a whopping 5 BigElderDragonJewels!) to create.

. So there you go; 10+6+11+2 = 29 Ukanlos Stones if you want to make every rarity 10 item! Even with a bit of luck, getting those will take around 40-50 dead Ukanlos'. Have fun and happy hunting!!
