Uroktor is a new monster exclusively featured in Monster Hunter 3. It is a medium sized lava dwelling creature and is the smaller, juvenile form of an adult Agnaktor.

Unlike the Agnaktor, they do not dive into lava, instead staying on land until their skin is strong enough to withstand the extreme heat when they're old enough.

An interesting fact is that Rhenoplos can blindly attack Uroktor on the quests "Best the Lava Beasts!" and "Roll the Uroktor" if they are in the same area.

Uroktor is an aggressive Leviathan that first made it's appearance in Monster Hunter Tri for the Wii.

Uroktor are land based serpent creatures which have a high tolerance for extreme heat. They have the capabilities to dig themselves deep underground and tolerate the heat of lava, using this to their advantage. Their nests are located in and around lava sources, mainly situated extremely close to centre of a heat source, around the summit and coduit of volcanoes as well close to molten rock.

The Uroktor has an Alpha-Male counterpart known as the Agnaktor, which is more developed and evolved.

Uroktor are usually found in packs of 2 or 3 and are rarely alone.

[edit] General Information

Official Guild Entry: "Currently None"

Appearance: Small and serpent like, they have very sharp and pointed beaks as well as tails, which help make their bodies more streamlined. They are covered in an orange and red colored hide, which is rather tough and resistant to heat. it is however not as vibrant or as strong as the hide of an Agnaktor. Their beaks are tough, shaped similar to a spoon or shovel and has many purposes. It can be used to dig into the ground allowing the uroktor to create a tunnel for which it burrows and moves around at high speed. It's beak is also shaped to allow it to easily chip at and eat molten rocks and ore. The eyes are small and indented, protecting them during their burrowing period.

Nature: Aggressive, they mainly congregate in packs of 2 to 3, usually situated close to their nest which is surrounded by large heat sources. They can be seen in groups, usually foraging for food as well as protecting their designated area. They are also somewhat independent of their Alpha-Male counter part and do not necessarily live with a pack mentality.

[edit] Combat

Uroktor will roar when they notice an enemy, indicating their intent to attack and defend their area. Their tactics usually involve attacking individually and goes largely unnoticed as a group.

Uroktor attack by burrowing underground and attempting to attack their enemy from the bottom, spiking their beaks up and flailing around when near the surface. They will also appear half way in order to quickly swipe at enemies and also duck back under the rock quickly to protect themselves.

In the presences of an Agnaktor there does not seem to be any change, with most Uroktor making no real indication of any signals or acknowledgement of the Agnaktor.

[edit] Hunter's Tips

  • Uroktor can almost always be found close by to a heat and food source and rarely stray away from them.
