Vespoids are small wasp-like creatures, classified as members of the Neopteron family, which usually come in swarms. A Vespoid can paralyse its opponents using its needle. Vespoids vary from sizes, the smallest being roughly the size of a Felyne and the larger ones reaching twice the size. Vespoids are led by a queen vespoid, which appears in some quests after a large number of vespoids are killed.

These bugs are annoying, especially when you are fighting a major monster like a Wyvern.

[edit] Tips

Due to the very fragile nature of Vespoids and Hornetaurs, they shatter when killed. This can be very frustrating if you require any materials from them. The solution is to use a Poisoned Smoke Bomb or another source of Poison and wait for the target to drop dead.
